Panoptica V5.1 Release!

Core Game:

Below is a number of changes which have been informed by the GW FAQ update, these are all relatively self explanatory so we have had no other clarification text to add

  • To-Wound Rolls and Special Rules - Panoptica page 112 - Remove Haywire from the text of this special rule, as the GW FAQ has changed how Haywire functions
  • Core Reactions - Panoptica Page 113 - Remove the Assault Phase reaction change from the document, to fall in line with GW FAQ. 
  • Crew Stunned - Panoptica page 113 - Appended the existing Panoptica errata to the end of the new GW FAQ, to continue to provide clarity on what to do if you cannot place a flyer
  • Dangerous Terrain and Special Rules - Panoptica page 114 - Remove existing Panoptica FAQ to Dangerous Terrain to fall in line with GW FAQ.
  • Infiltrate - Panoptica page 242 - Remove existing Panoptica FAQ to Infiltrate to fall in line with GW FAQ
  • Ramming - Panoptica page 112 - Remove existing Panoptica FAQ in line with GW FAQ
  • Core Reaction - Panoptica Page 112 - Remove section of FAQ making reference to reacting to models being place but not moving (e.g arriving from reserves, etc)
  • Flyers and Deep Strike - Panoptica Page 116 -  Remove section of FAQ making reference to flying models arriving via Deep Strike
  • Legion Chaplain Power Weapon - Panoptica page 121 - Remove this FAQ to fall in line with GW FAQ
  • Medusan Immortal Weapon Changes - Panoptica page 126 - Removed FAQ letting Immortals take Bayonets to fall in line with GW FAQ
  • Bitter Duty - Panoptica page 121 - Remove FAQ to fall in line with GW FAQ
  • Achean Force - Panoptica page 129 - Remove the section of this FAQ about how this special rule is activated, but retain the section about Dreadnoughts being able to activate the weapon. 
  • Zardu Layak - Page 130 - Remove this FAQ as it is now covered by the GW FAQ
  • Sons of Horus Merciless Fighters - Panoptica 130 - Remove this FAQ as it is now converted by the GW FAQ
  • Knight Vestal - Page 145 - Remove the save Characteristic change as this is now covered in GW FAQ’s 
  • Kharon Axquisitor - Page 145 - Tweaked the Panoptica balance change so they now replace a Multi-Melta with a Melta Cannon
  • Pursuer Cadre - Page 145 - Remove the errata section from this change, to fall in line with the GW FAQ
  • Subjugator Cadre - Panoptica Page 145 - Remove this change to fall in line with the GW FAQ
  • Anathema Sub-type - Panoptica page 148 - Remove the change to the final paragraph of this errata, to fall in line with the GW FAQ
  • Legiones Hereticus - Panoptica page 157 - Remove errata and Dev Note section of this change to fall in line with the GW FAQ
  • Tweaked a number of Legiones Astartes legacies units, highlights will be called out
    • Changed the Caestus transport capacity to be able to hold 10 terminators. 
    • GW has removed Exposed Plasma Conduits from Macharius Omega, added Exposed Compartment to the model to make it function as before
    • We’ve upped the number of shots on the Fulmentarus plasma missiles to two, but decided to keep the changed profile. We’re going to add in the ability for them to buy back melee weapon options in the next version of Centura.
    • Increased price of Loctarus Storm Squad to 30 points per model
    • Cassian Dracos lost twin-linked meltaguns and IWND (5+) (removed since GW added it in)
    • Nomus Rhy’tan’s Darkstar Falling gains Master-Crafted and he gains Weapon Skill 6. 
    • Kaedes Nex got Artificer Armor
    • Alvarex Maun got a Refractor Field
    • Rylanor’s Hatred (EC) swapped to Hatred (Traitors)
    • Marshal Durak Rask gains three phosphex bombs instead of one, and gains +1 wound (going to 3 wounds). 
  • Liber Imperium: Changed Golden Exemplar to make the Warlord’s unit’s first reaction free. 

Shock Pulse - Core Document Page 246 - Tweaked BS reduction to -2 instead of -1 and forces To Hits on the scatter dice to be re-rolled. 

We’ve made some changes to our Shock Pulse to make it a bit more punishing on the larger targets, whilst still not turning off the shooting entirely like the base version of the game. 

Flanking Assault - Core Document Page 246 - Change the final paragraph of the GW FAQ on Flanking Assaults to read as follows:

“Units that have Disembarked from a model with the Assault Vehicle Special Rule in Step 5 of the Flanking Assault process may Charge in the following Assault phase, as an exception to the Assault Vehicle Special Rule.”

Earlier in the document as part of a Dev note GW confirms that units can charge out of Assault Vehicles which arrive as part of a Flanking Assault but then later in the document in the ‘Flanking Assault’ section says that they cannot. We’ve tweaked this to fall in line with the earlier Dev note.

Crusade Force Organisation Chart - Core Document Page 281 - When constructing an army using the Crusade Force Organisation Chart, irregardless of the number of Optional Detachments you are able to select, you may still only select a single Allied Detachment and a single Lord of War Detachment. Alternative Force Organisation Charts provided in other publications will specify how many of each kind of Detachment is permitted by them.

We’ve seen some queries about the ‘Optional Detachment’ FAQ, so decided to just release this here to clarify how the CFO works. This choice has been made as the wording on the same page calls out “an Allied Detachment” - not multiple - and the Chart on the same page also shows only a single such Allied Detachment.

Liber Hereticus and Astartes: 

Weapon & Equipment Upgrades - Page 120 - Confirm that, in contravention of the GW FAQ, you may still purchase a bayonet for a bolter which replaces its ammunition

This is a relatively self explanatory change, we’ve decided to keep allowing people to put bayonets on bolters with alternative ammunition types.

Liber Mechanicum: 

Paragon Unit Sub-type - Liber Mechanicum Page 91 - Confirmed that, in contravention to the GW FAQ, Paragons may make reactions

The team has decided to go against GW on this, as the new FAQ is quite heavy handed and reduces the power of an already weak upgrade. People have been playing with Paragon being being able to react since the first Panoptica changes went live, so we have decided to stick with this.
