Panoptica V5.2 Release!

Liber Panoptica

Rejected Changes:

Developer Note ~ In this section we will go over the major recurring pieces of feedback that we’ve received, which we have decided not to implement. Many of these bullet points will aggregate wider points so if you see your feedback has not been addressed directly it may either have been folded into another similar acceptance/refusal or may have not made the cut off time to end up in the current version of the book. There’s some feedback that we may also not address as we’re waiting to see if we get any more which lines up, this is usually the case for units that get a single piece of feedback about buffing; we’ll wait and see if anyone else submits suggestions before we act.

Request to make Move Through Cover work on the Zone Mortalis terrain

We’ve rejected this change, as the ZM terrain is set up to work differently than the base game terrain stuff. We’ve decided to keep this delineation by not making MTC work on the ZM terrain.

Multiple queries about making ‘challenge locking’ feels bad

We’ve made no changes with this at the moment, there have been multiple submissions about the fact that certain characters feel bad that they can be challenge locked. There have been a lot of conflicting requests on how this situation can be resolved, we would like some more requests from the community on how to deal with this.

Rebalance Breachers

We’re leaving Breachers until we do another pass in the future, as we’re waiting for more feedback from the community on how they’d like to see these go.

Rebalance of Sicarans Accelerator Autocannon

We’ve had some feedback in about upping the power level on the Accelerator Autocannon, this weapon is struggling but we’d like to know what direction the community would like to go with this one. We’d love some feedback on this one.

Changes:

Additional Missions for the Age of Darkness - Various Pages - Clarified that on missions with odd numbers of Objectives that the Defender player places the first one

We’ve had some questions through about the clarity of who places the first objective in certain missions, so we’ve just gone over these to make sure its clear.

Allies matrix - Various Pages - Reduced the ally level of Aeldari with a lot of Imperium Factions.

In Liber Imperatus we’ve included rules for ICM forces to have a greatly increased allied rating with the Aeldari, now that this has been done we feel comfortable knocking the space elves down a bit to more accurately reflect their standing in the lore.

Daemon Primarch - Page 157 - Replace the 4th bullet point to read as follows: “Daemon Primarchs have the Precision Strikes (2+) and Precision Shots (2+) Special Rules, and may choose to use these rules when attacking even when ordinarily they would be prevented from doing so, including when making Snap Shots.”

To bring Daemon Primarchs in line with regular Primarchs, we’ve tweaked their ‘free allocation’ shooting and melee to be Precision Shots (2+). This removes weird edge case rulings from occurring, and is the reason we’re mirroring this over from the regular unit type.

Solar Auxilia Artillery Battery - Page 19 - Increase the Strength and Toughness of this unit to 7

We’ve tweaked the values on the Solar Auxilia Artillery weapons, so they now match the statline found on the ICM variant of the units. This is mostly just to bring parity between the two.

Rite of War: Berserk Assault - Page 217 - Change the first Limitation to read as

All units in a Detachment using this Rite of War must declare a Charge in any of the Controlling Player’s Assault Phases where there is at least one model from any enemy unit within 12" and line of sight of a unit selected as part of a Detachment using this Rite of War, and must always target the closest enemy unit if possible. If a Charge made in this way initiates a multiple combat that includes more than one enemy unit, the Charging World Eaters unit suffers a -1 penalty to their Weapon Skill until the start of the Controlling Player’s next turn.

This Rite of War is very restrictive out of the box, as such we’ve tried to make it a bit more forgiving without removing the feel of that the RoW is going for. As such its now  possible to multi charge with this RoW, though doing so will incur a WS penalty. This should make it easier to introduce a chainaxe to your opponents face.

Heavy Chainsword - Page 174 - Heavy Chainsword gained rending 6+.

In order to make heavy chainswords actually appealing, we’ve given them rending 6+. This should balance them against other options (with more attacks) vs the now better attack lesser number of attacks they offer.

Adsecularis Tech Thrall Certus Covenants - Page 143 - Heavy Chainsword mandatory change reverted.

This mandatory swap has been undone pending a revisit during our upcoming Ingenium tweak. We’ll readd that option there, as well as hopefully some other fun options to make certus thralls appealing :)

Achea Pattern Force Weapons - Page 129 - FAQ’d to explain about how the Force “type” actually works

We’ve FAQ’d that having the Force “type” doesn’t grant the benefits of the Force Special Rule and so Achea Force Weapons don’t have ID against daemons etc.

Command Tanks in Crusade - Page 72 - Added a rider explaining how these are intended to work

We’ve added a rider to the “units added to others during deployment” section in crusade, so that vehicle commanders can pick up traits and so on as normal.

Deathstorm Drop Pods - Page 121 - Added the Indiscriminate Fire! Special Rule

We’ve added a special rule to deathstorm pods to allow them to ignore night fighting penalties so they can operate as intended without being useless in the dark.

Psychic Powers and Big Machines - Various Pages - Disallowed Powers to affect these

Super heavies, titans, knights, and lumbering flyers all now cannot be affected by psychic powers, both beneficial and harmful, in the same manner as gargantuan units.

Mech Jump Packs - Page 142 - Tweaked wording on reactions and charges

We’ve tweaked our changes to the Mech jump and jet packs to ensure they’re consistent with GW’s wordings on other jump and jet packs with regards to reactions.

Jetbikes and Jetpacks - Various Pages

Astartes characters and units with unique jumpacks and jetbikes have now been clarified so that they count as warhawk jump packs or Scimitar jetbikes in terms of allowing retinues or units with them to join or be joined.
